The second phase of Census-2011 has commenced in the State and will be completed by 28th February 2011. In this phase census will be done in 9 Districts viz. Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Una, Solan & Sirmour, covering 58 Tehsils, 25 Sub –Tehsils, 45 Urban Local Bodies and 14,132 Villages. More than 13,000 field officers and Supervisors are doing it.
Director of Census Himachal Pradesh Balbir Tegta meets Governor Urmila Singh and gives detail about the program and activities being under-taken in this phase. Governor has appealed to the people of the State to fully participate in census and urges to give complete and correct information.
