Shimla: Still the investigating agency has failed to solve the mystery around the death of 24-year-old forest guard Hoshiar Singh posted in Katanda forest beat of Mandi district. However, in view of the exceptional circumstances of his death, which investigating agency has failed to explain, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet today decided to provide an amount equivalent to his salary to his grandmother, Hirdi Devi, as a special case throughout her lifetime.
In a suspected case of murder by the forest mafia, the body of a 24-year-old forest guard, Hoshiar Singh, was found hanging upside down from a tree in Seri Katanda area of Karog in Mandi district.
Despite the constant protest and demand from deceased’s family and locals to hand over the case to CBI, the chief minister nullified the demand and maintained that his police was competent enough to investigate the crime. But even after a month the investigating agency has failed to come out with concrete theory to believe in this case.
The head of the government has also denied claims of activity of forest mafia in the region. While the victim’s family had complaint of receiving threats from them.
Claiming deteriorating law and order situation in the state, opposition BJP had demanded Governor to sack Virbhadra Singh government. Today itself the BJP has submitted a memorandum to the Governor Acharya Devvrat, in which saffron party claimed of deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Memorandum read that the law and order situation has gone from bad to worse and the state police has become mere spectator.
