With the aim to put institutional mechanism to track stalled projects of public and private sectors, the Himachal Pradesh government has launched a ‘State Project Monitoring Portal’, which will monitor projects, with investment from Rs 100 crore to over Rs 1000 crore initially.
Himachal Chief Secretary P Mitra launched the portal’, which has been developed by Cabinet Secretariat Informatics Division (CSID) of Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of India.
Chief Secretary said that the Project Monitoring Cell for the State has been established in the Planning department and it would be linked with the CCI-PMG portal of the Cabinet Secretariat.
He said this system would automate the entire tracking of stalled investment projects in the context of the bottlenecks which would include submission of a new project, editing or updating the projects, reviewing the projects, submission of details relating to bottlenecks, conducting Sub Group meetings and to take decisions for removing the implementation bottlenecks in the stalled investment projects.
Mitra claimed that portal would save the money-time and also help in redefining processes for effective tracking and resolving issues using a central interface. It would also help to provide integrated services in transparent and accurate information to the government.
To make this system more pragmatic, every concerned department would have its nodal officer to deal with queries and updating the details of the projects.
