Shimla: State Association of Medical and Dental College Teachers (SAMDCOT), IGMC Shimla, contributed Rs. 3.92 lakh towards Chief Minister Relief Fund. Dr. Arvind Kandoria, President of SAMDCOT presented cheque to Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
General Secretary Dr. Rajesh Sood, Vice President Dr. Anmol Gupta, Joint Secretary Dr. Kapil Rajiv Sharma, Social Secretary Dr. Yuv Raj, Treasurer Dr. U.K. Chandel and other members were present on the occasion.
The Office bearers of SAMDCOT also presented a demand charter to the Chief Minister demanding time bound promotions as Consultants working in different Departments in IGMC Shimla have to wait for 10-12 years for promotion. They also requested that their seniority should be counted from the entry into Medical College as Assistant Professor instead of the time when a faculty member becomes Professor.
SAMDCOT also demanded Academic Allowance of Rs. 7500 per month which was being given in periphery of the State. They also requested that the present Pay scale ceiling fixed at Rs. 79,000 per month should be enhanced to Rs. 85,000 per month like neighbouring States.
Chief Minister thanked the SAMDCOT for the contribution and said that their genuine demands would be looked into and considered sympathetically.
