Hill State ranked 2nd in Implementing Rural-Urban Housing Schemes
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur claimed that as many as 73074 LPG connections have been provided so far to the eligible families in the State under Ujjawala Yojna and all eligible families would be given such connections before 2019.
The Chief Minister, in a review meeting of the progress of Central and State Governments welfare schemes, said that 22 lakh people of the State would be benefitted under Ayushmann Bharat Yojna. He said that 94 percent data had been uploaded under the scheme and State have secured 7th position in the country. He said that implementing agency had already been appointed.
Jai Ram Thakur said that cent percent census villages had been electrified in the State and under ‘Saubhagya Yojna’ out of 13156 electricity connections 6101 had been provided and remaining 7055 connections to newly developed hamlets will be provided by the end of October this year.
While discussing the progress under Rural-Urban Housing Schemes, Chief Minister said that against the target of construction of 7385 houses in rural areas, 4522 had been constructed and remaining would be completed by October, 2018 well before the set target of 2019. He said that Himachal Pradesh had been ranked second in the country for implementation of this scheme and Kangra district had been awarded with Prime Minister’s Award for its effective implementation. He said that a target of constructing 1390 houses had been fixed for current financial year under Urban Housing Scheme.
Chief Minister said that the State Government’s decision to lower the age of old persons without income criteria from 80 years to 70 years had benefitted 1.14 lakh old people. And now over 2.14 lakh old people were getting Social Security Pension of Rs. 1300 above the age of 70 years.

Agarwal, Ram Subhag Singh, Tarun Kapoor, Principal Secretary Onkar Sharma, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu, Secretaries Dr. R.N. Batta, Advisor, Economic and Statistics Pradeep Chauhan, Director, Food and Civil Supplies Madan Chauhan and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
