Shimla: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced stepping up to 100 percent digital billing for the post-paid services under the Digital India mission.
BSNL will now send the post-paid bills of landline and mobile phones to its clients through e-mails. The BSNL is also offering a discount of Rs. 10 for receiving the bills digitally.
The subscribers of the BSNL’s post-paid services will be required to convey their consent to activate digital billing by visiting the nearest customer centres.
The consent form will be issued with the bills of January month.
The BSNL is going to digitize its services under the nation-wide “Go Green” campaign. Paper-less billing will save innumerous trees from felling for production of papers and will help maintaining greenery in the country, said the General Manager of BSNL, HP Circle, M.C. Singh.
It’s pertinent to mention that most of the BSNL customers recieve their bills through post. Further, several customers complain misplacement of bills sent through post.
However, digitazation of bill payment process will ensure that no bill is misplaced and reach the right customer in no time. A customer will recieve information regarding the dispatch of the bill through SMS.
The GM has appeared to its customers to visit the nearest customer care centre to activate paper-less billing, contribute in keeping the country green, and avail the said discount on the bills.
