The H.P Road Transport Corporation has taken a decision to give financial benefits to its around eight thousand employees on the analogy of Assured Career Progression Scheme (ACPS) 4-9-14. It has also decided to do away with the 48 hour duty roaster.
In the meeting of Board of Directors (BoD) meeting of the Corporation held here today under the chairmanship of Transport Minister G.S Bali, revealed that BoD had decided to construct nine new bus stands in the State on Built, Operate and Transfer basis for which the efforts would be undertaken to get the forest clearances at the earliest.
He said that approval has also been granted to open four more depots of the Corporation at Nerwa in Shimla district, Karsog in Mandi district, Nagrota in Kangra district and Parwanoo in Solan district.
Bali said that Corporation was making every effort to increase its income and the BoD today decided to display advertisements on all bus stands and inside the buses through LCD’s. It was also decided in the meeting to divide the bus stands in to three categories.
He said that decision had been taken to extend the Taxi Service of the Corporation to other parts of the State and tenders had been invited for 75 routes.
The Minister stated that 500 new buses were being included in to the fleet of the HRTC and it would also get 800 more buses under JNNURM. Besides, the BoD has also decided to conduct written examination before 24 August, 2014 for recruitment of drivers and conductors.
He said that to facilitate the commuters, the Corporation had decided to upgrade few general buses in to A.C buses with ten to 15 percent hike in fair. It has also decided to start 10 new Volvo bus services and efforts were being made to promote online booking of tickets for the convenience of the tourists and general commuters in the State. He added that the Corporation earned 57 lakh through online ticket booking service during last three months and this facility would be connected with the prominent websites to enable more people to take benefit of this facility.
The approval was given for shifting of office of the Regional Transport Officer, Una to new place during the meeting.
Principal Secretary, Transport K. Sanjay Murthi, Director, Transport, Ritesh Chauhan, Managing Director, Dr. R.N Batta and members of the B.OD were present in the meeting.
