Shimla: Renowned jeweller Kapil Sood, owner of Mahashe Jeweller, was duped for 18.5 lacs in lieu of a 7 biswa plot at Lakkar Bazar, Shimla.
Kapil Sood, in his complaint with the Shimla Police, accused Aman Bawa for duping him for 18.5 lacs against plot, which was owned by Umesh Kumar.
Sood alleged that he had paid 18.5 lacs to Aman Bawa through agreement for the land. He alleged that during the time of registry accused disappeared and sent a registered letter to him and later Aman Bawa gave a cheque of 18.5 lacs to be drawn before 14-12-13, but the cheque was also dishonoured by the bank on the same date.
Shimla Police has registered a cheating case under 420,467,468 IPC and investigating further into it.
