Hyderabad: In a major achievement and glory for Himachal Cricket, Nikhil Gangta scored a maiden double hundred in the under 25 match against host Hyderabad.
Nikhil Gangata, who hails from Shimla district, is a first player from the state who has scored an unbeaten double hundred at the national level. With Gangata’s superb knock, Himachal team also managed to pile up daunting 405 on four wickets on the opening day of the match.
Anurag Thakur, president, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, congratulated Gangta for his performance and said “it’s a moment of great pride and honour for the state association, the state”
All the members of the state association also congratulated him on this feat. Surinder Thakur, president Shimla district cricket association was all praise for the young cricketer from the district; he said that Nikhil has immense potential and cricketing talent.
