Dharamshala: Himachal Pradesh cricket team won its group C Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir by an innings and 192-run at Dharamshala cricket stadium.
Himachal captain Rishi Dhawan was star performer of the match, he took 9 wickets in both inning and contributed useful 50 runs.
In the first inning Himachal bowlers led by Captain Rishi Dhawan managed to dismiss touring J&K on just 178 on the first day of the match. Himachal batsmen played sensibly and made 458 runs on the board. Four of its batsmen scored fifties. Paras Dogra was highest run getter for the team, he made brilliant 96. Rishi Dhawan 50, Bipul Sharma 74 and number 10 batsmen Akshay Chauhan contributed 53 runs for the team.
Again in the second inning of J&K, Himachal bowlers led by Rishi Dhawan bowled guest team on meager 88 and won match an innings and 192-run.
Captain Rishi Dhawan finished with match figures of nine for 121, was ably supported by his new-ball partner Vikramjeet Malik (5 for 52) and debutant seamer Akshay Chauhan (3 for 14).
With this win, Himachal succeeded to get all seven points and with 16 points, HP team is topping the table of Group C. In its three matches Himachal team has won two and one match was tie.
