Member of Parliament Pratibha Singh called on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at New Delhi and apprised him about the losses occurred due to heavy rains and floods in Himachal Pradesh.
Pratibha Singh urged the Prime Minister for providing liberal central assistance on the lines of Uttrakhand for re-construction works in the flood hit areas of the State.
She said that it would take long a time for bringing back normalcy in Kinnaur district which was worst affected due to incessant rains. She urged for implementing special schemes for flood hit areas of the State on the analogy of Uttrakhand. She also demanded to ease the parameters of centrally sponsored schemes so as to accelerate the pace of development in the State.
Pratibha Singh also urged the Prime Minister for compensating the structural losses in Telecom, Roads, Transport, Agriculture and Horticulture sectors.
Member of Parliament demanded for providing liberal central assistance to the State so that construction and rehabilitation works could be completed in time bound manner and relief could be provided to the affected people.
