Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress and State NSUI congratulated Manish Thakur on being national secretary of Indian Youth Congress. In a welcome function organised by Youth Congress at Rajiv Bhawan, party state office Shimla. Senior Congress leader and cabinet minister in Virbhadra Singh Govt Vidya Stokes, HPCC president Thakur Sukhvinder Singh (Sukhu) and youth congress leader of Shimla district were also present at the function.
Manish Thakur thanked youth congress cadre for their support and party high command for the recognition. He promised to deliver at every step for the party. He praised Rahul Gandhi for introducing democratic procedure within the youth congress. He said that democratic procedure has helped many small leaders to showcase their talent and by virtue of it, they are proving their ability at various post in youth congress at national level. He also thanked Vidya Stokes and Sukhvinder Singh for their support and guidance in politics. He also asked youth congress supporters to work delicately for party and assured with recognition. He also urged party state president to induct hard working youth congress leaders into the block and state level.
While addressing youth congress cadre, Vidya Stokes congratulated Thakur for the new responsibility and advised him to put his hardwork in his new assignment. She thanked Rahul Gandhi for his vision and said that Manish Thakur’s elevation within the party is a part of it. She also asked youth congress cadre to gear up for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election and proliferate UPA Govt’s policies among the electorates. She said that youth is vital part of the future strategy and they should take active part in politics as well. She believed that elevation of Thakur will motivate other youth congress leaders to work in this field and will inspire them to contribute for the service of the common people.
Congress state president also congratulated Manish Thakur and asked youth congress cadre to work selflessly and assured with the recognition in later period. He also accepted Manish Thakur advice of inducting hard working youth congress leaders in main party set-up. He said that Congress party honor hard work and such supporters will be awarded with honorable post in the party. Sukhu also asked youth congress supporters to proliferate UPA policies at the block level as well. He gave clarion call to young leaders to prepare for the forthcoming parliamentary election and ensured their participation in all four seats.
