Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was accorded a rousing welcome on his arrival at Kullu. He was received by Maheshwar Singh, Local MLA at Bhuntar airport along-with party workers, supporters and common people in large number.
Virbhadra Singh was greeted by the common people and various organisations of the Congress party at various places en route Bhuntar to Kullu.
Chief Minister today reached Kullu where he will preside over the State Level Himachal Day function on Monday. Karan Singh, former minister and MLA, accompanied the Chief Minister from Shimla.
Kullu District Congress Committee and Bhuntar Block Congress Committee organised a function at Bhuntar to welcome Virbhadra Singh to Kullu assembly constituency for the first time after becoming chief minister of the State for sixth time.
Addressing the party workers and supports on the occasion, Virbhadra Singh said his government was ensuring all-round development of the State and Kullu district would also get priority. He said that party workers had work hard to ensure party victory in the assembly elections and now they need to gear up together for ensuring party’s victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Reacting to the demand raised by the local people, Chief Minister said the government would sympathetically consider to open Tehsil or Block office at Bhuntar which had emerged as big town after Kullu covering as many as 75 gram panchayats. He also assured to consider the demand of opening of forest depot at Bhuntar.
Former Minister and MLA Karan Singh welcomed the chief minister to Kullu district.
Later, Chief Minister also listened to the public grievances and directed the authorities for their speedy redressal.
District Congress President Budhi Singh Thakur, PCC delegate Sunder Singh Thakur, Kullu Block Congress President Hukam Sharma, Bhuntar Nagar Parishad President Anil Sood and BDC Chairman Nayan Prakash Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
Former Minister and Chairman, Bhuttico Weavers Co-operative Society Satya Prakash Thakur, Kullu Zila Parishad Chairman Harichand Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Sharabh Negi, other senior officers and prominent people of the area were present on the occasion.
