In the Vidhan Sabha, Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri revealed that the Himachal Pradesh is framing a new industrial policy to attract more investments as 215 industrial units have closed down during the last five years.
He said that Govt was also looking into the reasons why the state has failed to attract investment. He claimed that government has identified shortcomings in the existing industrial policy and these would be overcome in the new one.
Agnihotri said that 3,835 industrial units were set up during last five years. He said that in the past 10 years, the state had approved industrial proposals worth Rs.48,000 crore, but got investment worth only Rs.13,000 crore during this period.
