Rahul Gandhi, in a campaign rally at Bilaspur blamed the ruling BJP for lack of development and unemployment in Himachal and said UPA is implementing pro-farmers policies.
Launching a scathing attack on BJP, Rahul said BJP blocked important legislations like the lokpal Bill. He gave credit to the Congress-led coalition at the centre for working in the best interest of the aam admi and for introducing the RTI Act.
He claimed that only Congress party and the UPA government work in the best interest of the nation and the common man. He stated that Congress led central Govt have taken several initiatives aimed at improving the life standard of the common man and even these initiatives have been lauded, adopted and implemented by several nations in the west, Gandhi claimed.
He also dismissed BJP’s opposition to FDI accusing it of spreading disinformation on the issue. Gandhi claimed that FDI is for the benefit of the farmers and fruit growers. Rahul Gandhi said that BJP were not against FDI when BJP Govt was in Delhi and now when UPA Govt has initiated FDI bill, BJP is opposing it.
He also slammed BJP over the issue of land allotments in the state saying that people complain that their land was sold out arbitrarily and given to outsiders.
Gandhi, who is tipped to take a “larger role” in the party affairs soon, also chose the occasion to exhort youths to join politics and change it from within.
He urged people to vote Congress to power in the state and highlighted the problem of “unemployment” in Himachal Pradesh.
