As the days for the elections are few, the campaign to woo voters is intensifying with each passing day. The party candidates are visiting their respective regions and are trying their level best to convince electorate to vote for them with new agendas and schemes that they claim to fulfill in the next tenure, if voted to power.
The Chopal segment isn’t an area where the election waves haven’t reached. The segment saw the Congress party intensifying its election campaign initially as its candidate for the constituency, Subhash Chand Manglate, has covered more than 50 Panchayats so far. He is very much thrilled with the response he got from the voters which, as he says, is the clear indication that people wants congress to rule yet again.
Alleging the BJP government for failing to provide basic health and education facilities to the people of the area, as schools and health centers don’t have sufficient staff, Subhash Chand Manglate also stated that condition of the roads isn’t good either and that has irked people like anything. Also in the fray is Balbir Singh Verma, an independent candidate, who is giving stiff competition to Congress candidate.
Talking about BJP, the party is lagging behind as far as campaigning is concerned. BJP has given ticket to Seema Mehta after a strong wrangle but that has, perhaps, cost the party most of its leaders who seem reluctant to campaign for Seema Mehta. While certain incidents like hundreds of BJP members joining Congress in Kupvi indicate that the wind might blow in Congress candidate’s favor. BJP national Chief Nitin Gadkari also visited the segment, who was welcomed by hundreds of supporters, and seems to failed inspire electors to turn their head.
