HP Tourism Development Corporation Limited (HPTDC today completed 40 years. Managing Director, HP Tourism Development Corporation Limited (HPTDC) Lokender Singh Chauhan congratulated and passed on good wishes to all employees of the Corporation on its 40th Foundation day today. This has become a pioneer Corporation in the development of Tourism Infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh, he said.
Chauhan said that the HPTDC was formed in 1972 with a very few tourist bungalows and a small number of employees and tourism infrastructure. But it gradually not only created tourism infrastructure in the State but increased opportunity for employment and engaged numbers of employees.
Lokender Singh Chauhan further stated that today the Corporation has more than 1800 employees and provides a complete package of tourism services, including accommodation, catering, transport, and conferencing and sports activities having the largest chain of finest hotels and restaurants in the State with 58 hotels having 1075 rooms with 2332 beds.
HPTDC also runs 60 restaurants and cafes, serving a varied cuisine, including Himachali delicacies. The HPTDC has 12 independent marketing and Tourist Information Offices in and outside the State in big cities like Mumbai, Kolkatta, Ahemedabad, Chennai, Bungalore, New Delhi and Chandigarh besides 13 General Sales Agents.
He told that HPTDC has full fledged transport wing consisting of fleet of Volvo and luxury coaches and runs direct services between Delhi-Manali, Delhi-Shimla & vice-versa besides conducting local sightseeing tours around Shimla & Manali. It provides an opportunity to the tourists to visit other places in and around the main destination.
Numbers of attractive packages for all segments of tourists have also been prepared.
