Himachal Pradesh University has decided not to admit students placed under compartment or who want to re-appear in one or two subjects in the next class. Registrar, CP Verma said that the University has decided that from the current academic session (2012-13), no student would be allowed admission in the higher class unless he/she has completely passed the previous class.
He added that the decision has been taken in the light of a judgment passed by Himachal Pradesh high Court and conveyed to all the affiliated colleges/institutes of the University and if any lapse is found in this regard, the entire responsibility will lie on the concerned Directors/ Chairperson /Principals head of Institute/Department/College.
Earlier, the colleges had been giving provisional admission to students’ places under compartment but they were required to clear the examination before the final examination results are declared and thus saved one year’s lapse, but with this new notification, such students will miss the chance.
