Chief Minister Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal dedicated newly constructed buildings of Irrigation and Public Health Department constructed at a cost of Rs. 85 lakh and Ground Water Building costing Rs. 53.87 lakh at Una. He also inaugurated, Fire Station Building at Rampur (Una) costing Rs. 92 lakh, Sugam Centre in Deputy Commissioner office, Una costing Rs. 20 lakh and performed foundation stone laying ceremony of ITI Girls Hostel Una to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 125.56 lakhs.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Dhumal said that computerisation of all public service oriented services was being carried in a time bound manner and Una was to be among the leading districts where Sugam Centre had been set up. He said that Sugam Centre would be instrumental in providing all facilities to general public under one roof. He said that with the setting up of Sugam Centre at Una people of the area would get instant facilities with regard to registration of vehicles, preparation and issuance of driving, conductor and armed licenses, disability certificate, senior citizen certificate, registration of passport, copies of revenue records, payment of electricity and telephone bills, besides registration of public grievances under one roof. Chief Minister added that the State Government is committed to bring the efficiency and transparency in delivering best of the services to the public. He said that the Sugam Kendras were of immense use to common men who earlier had to go from pillar to post for getting their work done from different agencies. Now all services would be available at one place. He congratulated the people of the district for getting the facility.
Along with the Chief Minister Irrigation and Public Health Minister Ravinder Ravi, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries, Satpat Satti, Virender Kanwar, and MLA Balbir Chaudhary, Vice-Chairman Water Management Board Parveen Sharma and prominent personality of the area were present.
