Himachal BJP seems in a mood to respond to every criticism and allegation leveled by the opposition Congress with an equally intense counter attack. Congress leader Virbhadra Singh, who was openly blaming Prem Kumar Dhumal for carrying political vendetta against him and had also alleged that the CM and his family members were involved in land deal and violations of 118. Today, BJP party leader Dr. Ashok Kapahtia hit back with an allegation in a press conference that Arun Sen, the brother-in-law of Virbhadra Singh, had misguided the Hon’ble Court by concealing facts from it as he own about 1500 bighas of land against law, which permits only up to 150 bighas for an individual.
Ashok Kapahtia alleged that Arun Sen inherited 1500 bighas land and as per Land Ceiling Act of 1972, an individual cannot retain more then 150 bighas of land. Excess land should be vested with the government. However, he played with law to get ownership of the land from Supreme Court under Big Landed Estates Abolition Act, 1952 by surpassing law and regulations.
Ashok Kapahtia added that Arun Sen not only owned this land, but sold a big chunk from it as well. He alleged that Sen has already sold 730 bigha lands to various buyers and now owned 818.7 bighas, which still is much more then the allowed limit. Kapahtia also questioned Congress’s allegations against BJP led Govt as most of the 118 violation were reported during the Congress regime. He also suspected gross law violation in 256 bigha land sale at Jungle Nalka, sub-tehsil Kishangarh of District Solan, to K.K Firm & nurseries and S.K Firm & nurseries in May 2006, which was sold to non agricultural companies and in March 2008 these companies sold land to Delhi based Delenco Realtors, which also raises doubts and needed investigate properly. A BJP leader has demanded investigation in all these irregularities and seeks punishment for those who are guilty in it.
