Screens to display PM10, Nitrogen Oxides and Sulfur Dioxide in the air in the respective area

Shimla: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today launched 12 latest Electronic Display Screens of the State Pollution Control Board today for environmental awareness.

These screens have been installed at Shimla and Dharamshala towns and one each at Baddi, Damtal, Kala Amb, Manali, Parwanoo, Poanta Sahib, Sundernagar and Una. Screens have been installed by spending an amount of Rs 35 lakh.

The State Pollution Control would provide complete detail of PM10, Nitrogen Oxides and Sulfur Dioxide in the air in the respective area. In addition to this, these Electronic Display Screens would also display details regarding environmental issues such as water and noise pollution, civil and bio-medical waste management, water management and temperature of the concerned cities.

The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the Board for taking this initiative for monitoring and maintaining salubrious environment of the State.

Additional Chief Secretary Manisha Nanda, Member Secretary State Pollution Control Board Dr R.K. Pruthi and other officers of the Board were present on the occasion.

PCB employees contribute one day salary towards CM Relief Fund

Officers and employees of the State Pollution Control Board contributed one day salary towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was today presented a cheque of Rs 13.22 lakh.

The Chief Minister thanked the PCB for this noble gesture and said that the contribution would go a long way in helping the needy at the time of distress.
