Shimla: The Himachal Cabinet accorded approval to constitute the State Monitoring Committee under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
Financial Commissioner Revenue of GoHP will be Committee’s Chairman besides 11 other members and a member Secretary.
The decision was taken by the Cabinet, presided by the Chief Minister here today, to levy 9 % Administrative and Contingency charges on land acquisitions under taken by the State Government through land acquisition Collectors and Special Land Acquisition Unit for Central Government Ministries for construction of National Highways, Railways, Defence projects etc.
Aiming to give relief to the landless persons both in urban and rural areas of the State, the Cabinet gave its nod for relaxing the norm of 100 meters from the road head for allotment of land upto 3 biswa in rural areas and 2 biswa in urban areas for construction of dwelling units as per the housing policy of the State government to the urban and rural landless persons.
The Cabinet also decided to give incentive/Award in shape of grand-in-aid to the Panchayati Raj bodies who elected all the office bearers un-opposed and to the Panchayats who return their office bearers un-opposed.
The incentive, amount would be Rs. 5 lakh, Rs 10 lakh and Rs. 15 lakh for gram panchayats, Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads respectively.
