The vigilance and anti-corruption bureau has sought the nod to prosecute BJP leaders Prem Kumar Dhumal and his son Anurag Thakur and public servants for alleged wrong-doings in allotment of land to the state cricket body for constructing a residential complex.
A charge sheet prepared by the vigilance bureau in irregularities and violation in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) case has been submitted to the state government for approval.
It is learned that besides former Chief Minister and HPCA president, HPCA officer-bearers Vishal Marwaha and Sanjay Sharma, additional chief secretary Deepak Sanan, deputy commissioner Ajay Sharma and then chief executive officer of the Dharamsala municipal committee R.S. Verma were also figured in the charge-sheet.
The vigilance and anti-corruption bureau in August last year filed a cheating and misappropriation case against the HPCA over alleged wrong-doings in allotment of land for constructing a residential complex for the players near its stadium in Dharamshala.
BJP reiterating that all these investigation and charge-sheet were political motivated and only aiming to target BJP leaders.
