Pratibha Singh, newly elected Member Parliament requested the Central Government to provide liberal financial assistance for taking massive rehabilitation works in the flood affected areas of the State.
Pratibha Singh called on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at New Delhi today and requested him to release the Central assistance of Rs.1000 crore to the State Government. She apprised the Prime Minister that according to initial estimates loss of Rs 2575 crore had been estimated due to recent flash floods besides, 25 precious human lives, 10,0000 animals had also perished in the flash floods. She said that 1000 houses, 2120 roads had been badly damaged and standing crop on 50000 hectare land had also been damaged.
Pratibha Singh requested the Prime Minister to expedite the construction work on Rohtang tunnel to provide all weather connectivity to snow bound Lahaul-Spiti district and told that this tunnel was also important from strategic defence point of view as it is important link to connect Manali–Leh national highway having international border with China.
Mandi MP requested the Prime Minister to declare Baddi-Kalka and Bilaspur-Leh via Manali railway line as projects of National importance keeping in view of economic and security importance of these railways lines and provide hundred percent central funding for constructions of these railway lines. She also requested for allocating adequate budget for early completion of Nangal –Talwara and Bhanupalli-Bilaspur –Beri railways line. She requested the Prime Minister to provide special industrial package to the State up to 2020 at par with other special category States.
Pratibha Singh also called on AICC general secretary Janardhan Dwevedi and general party secretary Digvijay Singh at AICC headquarter New Delhi today.
