After cancelling the lease deed of land allotted to Swami Ramdev at Sadhupul in Solan District, it is learned that Himachal Pradesh Govt is now all set to take action on land allotted to a Prashant Bhushan owned trust in Kangra district.
It is learned that revenue officials have reviewed all records related to land allotment and a detailed report has already been submitted to the state government. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has earlier announced to hold an inquiry into permission given to Prashant Bhushan to purchase a tea garden near Palampur and Minister for health and revenue Kaul Singh Thakur had also supported his CM and declared to take action in case of violation of statutory and administrative procedures found in it.
While in the opposition Congress had raised this issue several times inside and outside the assembly and had even demanded a probe into. Congress has alleged that the previous BJP regime had given sanction to Kumud Bhushan Educational Society to buy 4.68 hectares of land for construction of an educational institution on February 2, 2010 in Kandwari area of Kangra district in violation of norms.
However, prior BJP led Govt had defended the decision of granting permission to Prashant Bhushan to buy tea garden land, claiming that from January 1, 2008 to November 30, 2011 land use change had been allowed under Section 118 of the Land Reforms and Tenancy Act to allow Kumud Bhushan Educational Society to buy tea garden land.
