Chief Parliamentary Secretary Rajesh Dharmani yesterday met Pratibha Singh, wife of Chief Minister and urged her to take a lead to make a forum of wives of all 68 MLA’s in the state to work on gender equality, sensitization of society on related issues, which needs to be addressed with seriousness.
Dharmani said that he would also write to wives of MLA’s to request them to come under one banner for the cause. The main mandate of the forum would be awareness, sensitization and advocacy on gender issues, he added.
Pratibha Singh appreciated the efforts of Dharmani and said that the forum would play a vital role to empower women folk besides addressing their various issues, which otherwise never got attention. This powerful platform would enable the women to know their power and use the rights, she added.
