Rains failed to dampen the spirits of the students of Government Senior Secondary School, Boileuganj who enthusiastically took part in the tree plantation programme, which was organized under the aegis of State Bank of India, Main Branch, Shimla in association with Shimla based NGO, Ashadeep and NSS Wing of Government Senior Secondary School, Boileugang.
As many as 200 children of the NSS wing of the school took part in the plantation and planted as many as 300 deodar saplings at Summerhill.
SBI, Main Branch, Assistant General Manager (AGM), Ritu Bansal said the bank as a part of its social sector responsibility had organized the plantation campaign in the interest of the society by linking it as a motivation for the noble cause so that the joint efforts with Asshadeep and the school go a long way in promoting green and healthy environment.
To ensure care and survival of the saplings planted the bank has decided to pay Rs 50 per survived plant to the school as an incentive to encourage such a cause for environment preservation, she said. Ashadeep, President, Sushil Tanwar said, efforts will be made to involve the other educational institutions in this continuing green initiative of Ashadeep.
