Dharamshala: The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education today declared the Class 12 results. A total of 95,492 students appeared in the examination, out of which 62.01 per cent passed, while 16,102 students got compartment.
Ashmita Sharma of DAV School, Una, topped the Arts stream by scoring 96.4 per cent. Preeti Birsanta from Career Academy School, Nahan topped the Commerce stream with 98.8 per cent, while Anil Kumar of Sai Star School Dhalpur, Kullu topped in Science stream. He scored 98.6 per cent.
The exam was conducted from March 6 to March 29 and the board declared the results within 24 days
The Class 12 pass percentage was lower this time as compared to 70.18 per cent in 2018.in 2013 pass percentage was 65.1, in 2014 pass percentage was 67.10, in 2015, 2016 and 2017 pass percentage was 68.64, 78.93 and 72.89 percent respectively.

Himachal Pradesh has 17 private universities and over 10 engineering, pharmacy and other colleges, besides 141 govt colleges. With this 62.01 per cent result, it’s pertinent that the admissions in these private universities and institutes will be hit directly. Admissions in most of the private universities and institutes are low from past five years and 12th result will further affect admission in these educational institutes.
