Shimla: The Himachal BJP today re-elected Satpal Satti as state president of the party for a record consecutive third term.
A third time legislature from Una assembly segment, Satti will lead the party in the 2017 state assembly elections.
Leader of Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal, three parliamentarian and twenty legislature proposed Satpal Satti’s name and Ganeshi Lal, party observer to oversee the election of the state party president, announced his name. Satti was chosen unanimously.
Satpal Satti thanked party senior leaders and workers for entrusting him with the important responsibility, and sought their active support to further strengthen party in the state.
Prem Kumar Dhumal, former two time Chief Minister of the state, JP Nadda, Union Cabinet minister, congratulated Satpal Satti. Hailing party workers achievement of successfully increasing party base from 4 lakh registered party workers to 14.50 lakhs, Dhumal sadi that under Satti leadership workers will take party message to the common man.
Union Cabinet Minister JP Nadda hailed Satti’s contribution to strengthen the party in the state. He said that BJP sole aim is to ensure to take government social welfare schemes to every single person and ensure everyone support in nation building.
The party also elected four leaders Sraveen Chaudhary, Virender Kanwar, Rajesh Sehjal and Ajay Rana as national council delegates.
