Shimla: The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has announced to add 30 modern buses of JNNURM on as many as 15 routes of the state.
Transport Minister GS Bali, while addressing media personnel here today, revealed that new routes will be started within ten days, and fixed “lower” fare will be charged from the passengers.
The new buses will be equipped with modern security features and won’t move until its doors closed properly. It’ll also have in-built camera that will record the activities of passengers and driver.
Giving detail about the performance of Transport Corporation, the Minister revealed the corporation has earned Rs. 65 crore more as compare to the previous year, and its efficiency by kmpl has also increased to 3.64 from 2.92 kmpl.
Earlier today, GS Bali flagged two new buses off from ISBT Tutikandi Shimla. These two buses will ply between Shimla-Nalagarh-Una-Tahliwal and Shimla-Chandigarh.
