Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh awarded the Rogna Yuvak Mandal for the initiatives taken to preserve the environment at the Zila Parishad Bhawan, Kullu today.
Virbhadra Singh, while speaking at the event, lauded the initiative of Yuvak Mandal and said that ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’ and we should sincerely be committed for keeping our environs clean’.
He said that cleanliness drives be undertaken right from Panchayat levels and it should be made a routine affair instead of single day affair.
CM said Gram Panchayats should take up the responsibility for keeping the Panchayats clean. He appealed to the people throughout the State to participate in the cleanliness drives and help making the environment a better place to stay.
Earlier, Chairman Zila Parishad welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anil Sharma, the panchayat representatives and members of the Zila Parishad were present on the occasion.
