Hamirpur: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh sought votes for party candidate Rajender Rana in Hamirpur district today. He addressed series of rallies at Badsar, Bijri,Galore, Bara, Kuthera, in Hamirpur district and urged electorates to vote in favour of Congress party.
In his address, Virbhadra Singh reiterated his promise to provide clean, transparent, citizen friendly and efficient administration with zero tolerance towards corruption in the state. Detailing out his Govt initiatives, he claimed that only congress party can ensure even development in the State.
He stated that the congress had always given priority to Hamirpur district as evident from the development works it carried out here. Chief Minister said that it was the first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Y.S. Parmar who gave status of district to Hamirpur, as earlier it was a tehsil of Kangra district.
Attacking leader of opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal, Singh dared him to count his achievements for Hamirpur district. Virbhadra Singh said that becoming Chief Minister was not enough, one has to create rapport with the common man and work for upliftment of society as a whole rather than adopting autocratic style of functioning and keep revengeful attitude.
Singh also commented on BJP prime minister candidate Narender Modi and accused him for spending crore of rupees to be in limelight only. He also questions the source of funding for his campaign and asked election commission of India to examine and verify.
Singh also lambasted at HPCA office bearers for their unfolded statements against Governor. He also hinted to spare HPCA if it transforms the association to back to Society and the body is reconstituted democratically with representation to every district.
