Election Commission of India has issued notification for the election schedule for four parliamentary seats of Himachal Pradesh.
State chief electoral officer Narender Chauhan revealed that the last date for making nominations has been fixed for April 19, while the nomination would be scrutinised on April 21. The candidates can withdraw their nominations by April 23.
The election in the state on four Lok Sabha constituencies would be held on May 7 from 7 am to 6 pm. Chauhan said that the whole electioneering process would be completed on 28th May, 2014.
On the first day of filing nomination paper two file nomination papers for Shimla Parliamentary Constituency. District Electoral Officer, Shimla Dinesh Malhotra said that Gurnam Singh resident of Village Chuhwal and Jasbir Singh, resident of village Bhatiankalan, tehsil and post office Nalagarh, district Solan filed their nomination paper as BSP candidate from Shimla Parliamentary Constituency.
As per report, Rajinder Rana will file nomination on April 14, while Mohan Lal Brakta (Shimla), will file his nomination on April 16. Pratibha Singh (Mandi) and Chander Kumar (Kangra) will file their nomination on April 17.
Former chief minister and BJP Kangra candidate Shanta Kumar will file nomination papers on April 17. However, Anurag Thakur (Hamirpur) will file his papers on April 16 and Ram Swaroop (Mandi) and Virender Kashyap (Shimla) will fill their nomination on April 17.
Election Commission has also issued notification for Sujanpur assembly seat, which was fall vacant after Rajender Singh Rana resignation. Voting for the lone seat of Vidhan Sabha will also conducted on May 7.
