The Indian National Congress has released its first list of 194 candidates for Lok Sabha election.
Surprisingly, in the first list, Congress failed to name any candidate for the four seats of Himachal Pradesh. Sitting Mandi MP Pratibha Singh candidature was expected to be announced in the first list of Congress, but her name absence raises questions.
The State Congress was reportedly divided over the candidature from Shimla, Kangra and Hamirpur parliamentary.
However, the first list contains names of several new and young faces. Cricketer Mohammed Kaif, Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s niece Karuna Shukla, IT expert Nandan Nilekani Justice Hanumanthappa are among 194 candidates for the upcoming polls.
