Ranjana from Shimla, Pawan from Mandi, Munish from Bhakhra and Neelkhanth from Indore, declared winner of Himachal Tourism Photoshoot Contest 2013.
It was an online photography competition, organized by the Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation. The contest was organized in four themes/categories i.e. Nature, Adventure, Heritage and Culture & Religion. In this contest 820 participants submitted the photographs entries online and in total 3393 pictures were received for the above contest. The Department received participation from all over the country including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Orissa, West Bengal, Dadar & Nagar Haveli for the contest.
Mohan Chauhan, Director (Tourism & Civil Aviation) said that the objective of the contest was to promote the tourism potential of Himachal Pradesh and attract tourists to our beautiful state. He said that the participants had submitted the pictures captured by them of various aspects of tourist interests in different locations of Himachal Pradesh. He said that from 3393 pictures received online, the best pictures were selected for the prizes of the contest.
Director (Tourism) further said that first prize of Rs 10,000/- (Ten thousand) in Nature theme has been won by Munish Chandel from Bhakhra, Distt Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh), Second prize of Rs 7000/- (Seven thousand) has been won by Anil Walia from Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) and third prize of Rs 5000/- (Five thousand) has been won by Akash Deep from Hamirpur (H.P.).
In Adventure theme first prize of Rs. 10,000/-(Ten thousand) has been won by Neelkhanth Gangrade from Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Second prize of Rs. 7000/- (Seven thousand) has been won by Aswita Dutta Sarkar from Gurgaon (Haryana) and third prize of Rs 5000/- (Five thousand) has been won by Sh. Navjot Singh from Ropar (Punjab).
In Heritage theme first prize of Rs 10,000/- (Ten thousand) has been won by Ranjana Sharma from Shimla (H.P) and second prize of Rs 7000/- (Seven thousand) has been won by Sh. Arvind from Dharamshala (H.P.).
In Culture & Religion theme Pawan Kumar Kaushal from Mandi (H.P.) won the first prize of Rs 10,000/- (Ten thousand), Akash Deep from Hamirpur (H.P.) won the second prize of Rs 7000/- (Seven thousand) and Shiva Gour from Dharamshala (H.P.) won the third prize of Rs 5000/- (Five thousand).
Mohan Chauhan, Director (Tourism) said that consolation prizes of Rs 500/- each has also been awarded to 29 participants in the above categories. The names of consolation prize winners are: MR Sharma from Shimla, Kalpana from Hamirpur, Rupam Ray from Navi Mumbai, Poornima Marh from Shimla, Gautam Kanda from Patiala, Praveen Sharma from Chamba, Arnav Jain from Shimla, Mridu Sharma from Dharmashala, Nitish Saini from Ambala, Chetan Sharma from Bilaspur, Sanika Pathania from Manali, Charudatta Naresh Rane from Mumbai, Duni Chand from Manali, Rajesh Joshi from Mandi, Harshita from New Delhi, Jagjivan Savla from Mumbai, Anil Walia from Ghaziabad, Rohit Sharma from Dharamshala, Ankur from Shimla, Sanjay Kaushal from Delhi (two consolation prize), Samir Azad from Shimla, Ashwani Kumar from Dinanagar (Punjab), Naresh Bhardwaj from Shimla, Rajesh Narula from Noida, Munish Chandel from Bhakhara, Vasu Dev Chawla from New Delhi, Nav Sankalap Kalsi from Jalandhar and Anil Walia from Ghaziabad.
Director (Tourism) further said that the first prize winners in each category will be allowed free boarding and lodging in HPTDC Hotels for two days and one night for two persons between 14th January 2014 to 31st March 2014.
