New Delhi: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh called on Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi at New Delhi today and apprised her about latest developments in State.
Chief Minister apprised her about the effective implementation of Congress Election Manifesto and informed that the State Government had adopted the Election Manifesto of Congress Party as official document and all the promises made in the manifesto were being implemented in the State.
Virbhadra Singh apprised her about the action taken by the Government on the corruption charge sheet submitted by Congress Party to the President of India against previous BJP Government. He said that the State Government had taken effective action on all points of charge sheet He told that the State Government had adopted zero tolerance against corruption in all spheres of governance.
Chief Minister apprised her about the various developmental projects and schemes launched in the State for overall development besides difficulties being faced by the State on various spheres.
Virbhadra Singh requested Sonia Gandhi to direct the concerned authorities to expedite the implementation of One Rank One Pension scheme for Ex-Servicemen for providing justice to them. He told that implementation of this scheme would benefit majority of the Ex-Servicemen in the State and would give them additional economic security in the old age.
Sonia Gandhi appreciated the steps taken by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh during last one year in the State and said that it had strengthened the party at grass root level and also helped to enhance the image of the Congress Party at National-level.
