Nagar Parishad Kullu organized a special function in the honour of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh at Kullu. Speaking at the occasion Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh asked local bodies to focus on generating more income sources by maximum utilization of resources available at local level besides proper taxing.
Chief Minister said that almost all the local bodies of the State were dependent upon government grants and they were not able to collect taxes properly. He stressed the need for proper tax collection including house tax and appealed to the people to pay taxes well in time for availing various facilities being provided by the local bodies such as street lights, water, sanitation etc.
Virbhadra Singh said that State Government would consider the demands of Nagar Parishad Kullu sympathetically. Earlier, Rishabh Kalia, Chairman, Nagar Parishad Kullu and Manu Sharma, Vice Chairman apprised the Chief Minister about their demands. Member of Parliament Pratibha Singh, MLA Karan Singh and other prominent persons were also present on the occasion.
