Himachal Pradesh Government claimed that the Skill Development Allowance Scheme is gaining popularity among the youth of the State and in a short period of four months, Govt has disburse Rs. 17,28,500 to 1548 beneficiaries.
To publicize the scheme, State Govt has initiated various ways like radio jingles, flex banners, hoardings, posters and through SMS to youth etc.
In order to improve the employability of the educated unemployed youth of the State and to help them upgrade their skills and capacities, the Government of Himachal Pradesh has notified the Skill Development Allowance Scheme, 2013.
This Scheme was originally announced in the Budget Speech for this financial year by Chief Minister, in the month of March, 2013. The Scheme was made broader based by reducing minimum age eligibility to 18 years and minimum education eligibility to 10th pass and registration as on the date of the application instead of two years registration in Employment Exchange.
