Urban Development and Town and Country Planning Minister Sudhir Sharma called on Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh at Shimla and apprised him about the losses occurred due to landslides and heavy rains in Sekond Mod, Tihra Line area of Gram Panchayat Kajlot under Dharamshala in district Kangra.
Sudhir Sharma urged the Chief Minister to provide adequate financial assistance and land to the victims in nearby area for construction of houses for their rehabilitation. He said that landslides also caused damage to Army quarters and more than 16 private houses in the area besides loss to other property.
Chief Minister said that the district administration had been directed to assess and monitor the restoration works besides restoration of electricity, water supply and connectivity in the affected area at the earliest. He said that the people whose houses had been damaged due to the landslides would be compensated duly. He assured that adequate land would be provided to the affected families so that they could be rehabilitated at the earliest. Vice Chairman, H.P State Forest Corporation Kewal Singh Pathania was also with Sudhir Sharma.
