Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board and APMC donated Rs.21 lakh towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Sujan Singh Pathania, Agriculture Minister and Subhash Manglet, Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board presented a cheque to Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
Chief Minister thanked them and said that the contribution would go a long way in helping the poor and needy at the time of distress.
Virbhadra Singh said that agriculture activities in the State were being strengthened and new marketing yards were being opened at Una, Rohru, Tapari (Kinnaur) and Badukhar (Kangra) during this year to provide better marketing facilities to the growers near their farms.
Subhash Manglet apprised the Chief Minister that agriculture produce market at Parwanoo in district Solan was being mondernised by spending Rs. 5.50 crore during this year. He said that Agriculture Marketing Software would be introduced during this year in this market which would help in increasing the revenue of the Government besides checking the irregularities in taxes.
Dr. H.S. Baweja, Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board was also present on the occasion.
Power & MPP Minister also contributed Rs. 7 lakh towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Power minister presented cheque to Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on behalf of H.P Power Corporation Limited.
Minister also presented another cheque amounting to Rs. Three lakh to the Chief Minister towards the Fund on behalf of Forum of the Hydro Power Producers in Sutlej, Raavi, Beas, Chenab and Yamuna basins.
Chief Minister thanked the Power Corporation Limited and Forum of hydro power producers for generous contribution to the Chief Ministers Relief Fund. S.K.B.S. Negi, Principal Secretary MPP & Power and Personnel, D.K Sharma, M.D, Power Corporation, C.M Walia, Secretary General, Forum of the Hydro Power Producers and V.K Sharma, Member, Technical Forum were also present on the occasion.
