Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that creation of new districts was his governments’ last priority and so far there was no proposal to create any district in the State. He was addressing a gathering at Rampur today.
He said that the pace of development in sectors like health, education Roads etc was badly hit during the previous government regime. He said previous government tried to lure the voters by making lofty promises just ahead of the assembly elections but he was thankful to the people of the State for voting in favour of Congress party for a stable and honest government.
Chief Minister said that BJP government de-notified many schools and opened many colleges without adequate infrastructure. He said the college at Nankhari was opened just before the assembly elections and that too in a school building. Similarly, college announced for Kasuali in Solan district was made functional at Dahrampur in Block Education Office. On the other hand, Congress government in its previous regime had made budgetary provision of Rupees five crore for opening of each college whereas BJP government went on opening spree of educational institutions.
Virbhadra Singh said technical education was being promoted in the State to benefit the youth and his government had also taken a decision to give ‘Skill Development Allowance’ to help them in getting employment through skill development. This was a unique initiative which was being implemented only in Himachal Pradesh.
He said that his government was committed for overall development of the State and special emphasis was being laid on those areas which had remained deprived of development. He said that more schools would be opened as per the requirement and all the vacancies would be filled on priority in health, education, IPH, revenue and other major departments so that people get better facilities at their door-steps.
He announced metaling of Tikkar-Khamadi road and added that all the left out villages would be provided road facility in a phased manner. Earlier, he was given a warm welcome by the people en-route Sarahan and Rampur Bushahr.
