Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation presented a cheque of Rs. 35.15 Lakh as dividend to Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. Transport and Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs G.S. Bali presented a cheque.
Chief Minister said that State Government would continue the State Food Subsidy Scheme which was started during his previous tenure by providing three pulses, edible oil and iodized salt to the ration card holders at subsidized rates. He said that provision of Rs. 175 crore for this scheme had been made by the Government for the coming financial year. He said that State Government would introduce electronic ration cards to facilitate the people and to bring transparency in the public distribution system.
G.S. Bali apprised the Chief Minister that essential commodities worth Rs. 1246.76 crore were provided to the consumers by the corporation during last year. He said that Corporation had earned total benefit of Rs. 390.19 lakh and dividend worth Rs. 35.15 lakh were being presented to the Government.
Prem Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, B.M. Nanta, M.D. Civil Supplies Corporation, B.C. Badalia, Director, Food & Civil Supplies and senior officers were present on the occasion.
