Shimla: As expected Himachal Pradesh government has replaced ID Bhandari with B Kamal Kumar as director general of police (DGP). ID Bhandari is now goes as DGP, Home Guards and Fire Services.
B Kamal Kumar is 1982 batch officer and presently he has been working as additional director general cum commandant general home guard at Shimla. Kumar is known for his distinguish services and he has been decorated with police medal for Meritorious Service in the year 1999.
ID Bhandari took over the reign as acting DGP of the state on July 29, 2012 and after the Telephone taping controversy, removal of ID Bhandari from the post of director general of police (DGP) was expected.
