State Govt imposed a complete ban on the sale, storage, manufacture and distribution of tobacco-based products, gutka and pan masala from today. After this announcement, if any trader is found selling such products, he would be liable to be booked under the legal provisions made for strict implementation of the ban.
Banning sale and manufacturing tobacco-based products is a welcome step from state Govt and will help to curve health hazards generated from them. Now Govt is hoping to get good and overwhelming support from people of the state to make it successful. Chief Minister is confident about its success and said that the people of the State had always been supporting such move of the Government and hoped that the ban on Gutkha etc. would also be implemented with the public support and safe people, especially the youth, from various health hazards.
Earlier too Govt had imposed full ban on such products on July 13, but it had to lifted it few months, but this time it is hoping that Govt won’t retract from its decision.
