Health Minister Narinder Bragta, in the review meeting of Health Department declared that the New FACCO machine would soon be installed in the Eye Department of Indira Gandhi Medical College & Hospital, Shimla to provide upgraded facility to the patients. he added that the Casualty Ward will also be strengthened so that better services could be made available to the people.
Minister said that IGMC and Hospital had emerged as the premier heath institution of North India with the concerted efforts of the State Government in last four and half years. He said that more specialists would be made available in the Casualty Ward and extra man power would be deployed in here. Removable trolleys will also be provided in causality ward. He said that the registration counters will be given latest machinery, which would help in improved service delivery to the patients in the hospital. For the benefit of the patients, a radiologist will also be deployed in the causality.
Health Minister said that on the request of the resident doctors, library and reading room of the IGMC would remain open till 10 P.M from now onwards. He said that a special waiting arena had been earmarked for cancer patients in Cancer hospital.
Bragta said that the state government was according top priority to the health sector and every effort was being made to provide better health facility to the people at their door steps. He said that under “Atal Swasthya Sewa” facility of free ambulance was being provided in case of serious illness or any other emergency to all within 35 minutes. More than 2.5 lakh persons had availed benefits of this scheme so far. Under “Matri Sewa Yojna”, pregnant women from all sections were being given free delivery facility in Government hospitals. They were also being given free medicines during hospitalization and also free transport facility to go home.
Health Minister said that hospital authorities should brief and guide people about the health related welfare schemes so that more and more people could avail their benefits. Ali Raza Rizvi, Secretary Health, Dr. Amandeep Garg, Special Secretary- cum- Mission Director, National Rural Health Mission, Principal, IGMC, Shimla and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
