An ill fated private bus rolled down into a gorge in the outskirts of Kangra town, in which eight pilgrims (six men and two women), mostly from Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh, were killed, and 42 others injured. Accident happened around 10 p.m. on Saturday. The injured were admitted to Rajendra Prasad Medical College and Hospital in Tanda.
The pilgrims had returned from Amarnath in Jammu and Kashmir, and were on a visit to prominent Hindu shrines, Chamunda Devi temple to Jwalaji temple. The cause of the accident was yet to be known.
