Dile Ram, Chairman, Himachal Pradesh State Finance Commission said that it would organise meetings with the representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Local Urban Bodies in a phased manner. He said that first meeting would be held at Chachiot in Mandi district on 14th May, 2012. He added that similar meetings would be organised in Sundernagar, Hamirpur and Dehra on 15th, 16th and 17th May, 2012 respectively.
He said that State Government had constituted this commission to give its recommendations for distribution of various taxes between Panchayati Raj Institutions, Local urban bodies and devolution of powers. Dile Ram said that the Commission would consider strengthening these institutions so as to deliver the goods in more effective manner.
