Clarifying the news item published in a section of press pertaining to non-payment of salary to 22,000 Anganwari Workers and Supervisors, an official spokesman of the Government said here today that payment of salary was being made regularly.

Spokesman further said that the Cabinet in its meeting which was held on 27th December, 2011 had decided to release enhanced amount sanctioned by the Central Government. Arrears were proposed to be released in the month of April, 2012 w.e.f. 1st April, 2011, the spokesman added.

The State Government had also decided to continue to pay the amount of Rs. 300 to Anganwari workers, Rs. 200 to Anganwari Helpers and Rs. 250 to Mini Anganwari Workers every month. This amount would be in addition to the existing salary thereby increasing the salary of Anganwari Workers to Rs. 3300, Anganwari Helpers to Rs. 1700 and Mini Anganwari Workers to Rs. 1750.
