After emphatic victory in MC Shimla election now CPM is looking to extend its domain to assembly election. Party is planning to contest 19 constituencies in the forthcoming assembly poll which are schedule in later this year.
Enthused with the MC victory, the CPM cadres are on a high; raring to go as they are already trying to build their base in these identified 19 Assembly segments. Though the leftist have in the past had won very limited seats in the Assembly, they have not been able to emerge as a political force to reckon with all over the state.
For the forthcoming election CPM has set a realistic target and rather than fielding candidates from all 68 Assembly segments, party is looking to increase its influence in few pockets, where its cadre is already active and getting good response.
