After the intervention of Vice-Chancellor (VC) Furqan Qamar, the Central University, Himachal Pradesh, has changed the criteria for the selection of assistant professors in the institute. As per the changed criteria now, research has been given due weightage in the selection of candidates for the posts of assistant professor.
Earlier, in the criteria laid down by the academic council of the university, PhD and MPhil candidates were not given any preference for the posts of assistant professor despite their better qualification. Due to the adoption of the new criteria, the applications will now be re-scrutinised.
